Star Trek: Rapture

On the bridge, all systems were secured by 6 unidentified life forms. One human, who held the Captain’s chair. A Klingon who was at tactical, two Romulans at a sunken position, had the helm and operations station. And finally two Bynars who had taken both the engineering stations.

Back on the bridge, the Klingon at tactical turned to face the human in the chair. “Commander, the sensors are picking up reports of weapons fire, I have localized the fire to sections theta-53 and Lambda-10. In between decks 8 and 9. I am detecting both Starfleet and Romulan Disruptor signatures.” The human in the chair rotated to face the Klingon. “Seems we’ve got a few prison break wannabes, very well. Kill one of the Starfleet survivors located in crew quarters. Then send more of our men to intercept. And secure all systems from this point on.” He ordered swiftly, the man must’ve believed that the away team were a part of the Mercury crew who were originally assigned to complete construction on the ship.

Right in front of the jefferies tubes hatch to the bridge was an actual gangly bitch. A tall and slender Romulan armed with a disruptor rifle, he was ready if anyone was trying to sneak around the ship.

Outside of the bridge, the deck had an elongated hallway which was a matte-white with metallic accents, it featured four mysterious doors, which were evenly distributed around the hallway, and at the very end, blustered doors which were automatically closed when the ship entered combat. Or when the CO of the ship didn’t want anyone to walk in unannounced.

"Where are the intruders now? We should probably seal off the jefferies tubes," The one Romulan pirate said as he could hear some rustling in the tubes. Maybe the other pirates couldn't hear, but he had the sensitive Vulcanoid hearing and he was sure the intruders were using the tubes and heading towards the bridge.

He moved away from the chair and over to Hav with a scowl. “And risk trapping our own men within the tubes? No dice. We need to flush them out, have our men secured the engine room yet? What the hell is happening down there!?”

When the hatch popped open, each and every pirate on the bridge drew their weapons and bombarded the hatch with fire. The away team’s stun beam did hit one pirate though, there were now five life signs.

“Oh shit!” Yelled the ‘Captain’ as he hilariously went tumbling to the other side of the bridge. Hit his head on one of the bulk heads and was rendered unconscious.

A split second, or a minute, or however long this unexpected maneuver would last, that was all that Mishkanaa needed. She knew she needed to get out of the Tubes, things could get dangerous in there if she stayed! She was not without a plan, however, as she used her speed to her advantage. Even if the movements of the ship were unpredictable, she had encountered more violent movements in training (she was just hoping that her adversaries were not so adept at their jobs). She was heading towards what could be described as a lightswitch, using the flickering power and erratic movements as cover, and hoping to plunge the bridge into darkness.

He was not unconscious though. This pirate quickly got to his feet with his disruptor and began to fire towards the intruders. The ship was still shaking, but he hoped at least one shot would hit. Lucky for the away team he had Storm trooper accuracy.

Lisa climbed out of the hatch, noticing Havraha trying to shoot. She fired at him, attempting to hit and knock him out.

There was no one to hit, the entire bridge crew was unconscious. Thanks to the roll. The team was now free to fully access the Mercury’s systems.

She mustered up the courage and leapt through the hatch, doing a somersault and then -- impacting the floor cause inertia was functioning properly again. T'kara didn't let this get her metaphorically down however (still physically very much so though), as she aimed her phaser at the nearest person not wearing a Starfleet uniform and they're already down. Darn.

Ressa was last out, the tiny woman witnessing this carnage. Oh well. At least it wasn’t her problem.

[Comms] "Rai to away team pt 2, what is your status? We need to disable the systems fast! Please tell me you got to the bridge." (edited)

Mishkanaa switched tactics, instead going for the helm, thinking that a swift return to the Rapture would do them all some good. "I'll start bringing us back! That is... if you want me to!"

Lisa was first to the Comms, and she responded to Rai.

He was rendered unconscious when the ship tumbled, although yes he was shot by Lisa. He just chilling on the ground now.

T'kara took a deep breath from her new position bent over a handrail. Luckily she managed to not be sick. "I'm gettin' on the tactical station," she said in a suddenly much more human tone of voice as she speedwalked over to the console in question. Hopefully it wasn't completely shut down by the EMP.

[Comms] "Good work team! I will give you all Romulan ale once we get back, or the non-alcoholic drink of your choice."

[Comms] “I will absolutely take you up on the ale offer. Drinks and snacks for all.”

Mishkanaa smiled, feeling a little more confident now that she was somewhere she knew something about. She had some work to do, mostly just slight calibration to do in order to fly the ship back, but she knew she could do it.

Before the celebrations begin, the bridge crew would find that the Klingons are opening a channel. “Sheldon! Sheldon we wish to talk! You were tardy to your rendezvous with us! This is not very honorable of you. If you want to salvage this deal. I suggest you open hailing frequencies with us!” Of course because of the emp, the view screen was not operational at the moment.

She stiffened at the thought of another conflict, even if the first one went relatively well for them, thinking that it would be best to consult the team before doing anything rash (she didn't have the authority to do anything rash after all), she spoke. "So... what are we going to do about the Klingons? Also! Would it be a good idea to inform the Rapture that we have retaken the ship? That way they don't have to worry about an attack from us and can focus on other things."

“Well! Aren’t you gonna respond?” The gruff Klingon asked again. And he was getting annoyed.

T'kara took up position at the tactical station and tapped her commbadge to stay in touch with Rai the Team Leader. "They sound angry. Raising shields. Shall i arm weapons?" she asked, looking at the diagnostic readout for info on the shield and weaponry status. (edited)

"I am preparing for evasive maneuvers anyways! Just in case!" Mishkanaa said, voice just a little higher than normal as they flipped some switches and inspected the readouts from engines and steering systems

Out of breath, but very much there, the Romulan shaped bread sprinted into the room. "I am here! Hello, you guys did a good job with-- wow all of this."

[Comms] "Lieutenant s'Rllaillieu to Mercury, I hope I am not talking to the pirates."

Obviously the Klingons were not happy that they had raised shields. And a low growl was heard over the comm. “So be it, P'takh! If you will not accept my generous payment, then I will take the Starfleet vessel by force! Lower your shields and prepare to be boarded. Today is a good day to die!” They hung up, and begun charging their weapons.

[Comms] “Lieutenant Sanders to Rapture, you are not talking to the pirates.”

"Arming weapons," she said decisively as she did so.

"The Klingons are charging weapons! We need to fire!" Rai's inner Romulan instincts seemed to take over and he shouted-- "Fire at the Klingons, disable their weapons and engines!"

[Comms] "Sounds tense over there. Let us know when you are ready to be beamed back."

Just when you believed you were outnumbered. The Rapture cruised in and joined right alongside the Mercury.

"Aye sir." A few button taps later, and the Mercury's assault started off strong, phasers lancing over to the Klingon ships and a volley of torpedoes spreading out to seek multiple targets.

"Where can we take a hit? I can readjust the ship so we don't lose any important systems and end up dead in the water" Mishkanaa called, all business, eyes narrowed as she surveyed the situation in front of her. Sometimes flying a ship was about what you could sacrifice, a balancing act. A razor thin wire.

The Mercury glided across space like an eagle. Of course they were being shot at by the Klingons, and these shockwaves were enough to cause a bit of turbulence. The Mercury was a good ship, and with the Rapture backing her up. The task was all the more easier. Even with the Mercury’s new LCARS systems, the away team seemed to be adapting rather quickly.

"Once the raiders are disabled we can lower our shields and get the pirates to the brig," Rai ordered as he plopped his butt in the Captain's chair. Commander Rai back at it again! But this time he took a ship BACK from the bad guys, he wasn't bad guys this time!

"I'll keep the ship steady for us Commander!" Mishkanaa said as she continued her current course of action, reacting to the loadouts on her screen and shifting the course of the Mercury ever so slightly to accommodate for any hits that they might take.

No matter how hard the Mercury or the Rapture pushed, the Klingons seemed to push back harder. Leaving the Mercury down with 10% left on the shields.

"Loading quantum torpedoes. More power to the shields please, if possible." It was time to end this fight ASAP, there was no telling how much longer the already damaged ship would last. The telltale silvery shimmer of quantum torpedoes is the next thing to exit the Mercury's launch tubes.

Ah, no more quantum torpedoes. They wouldn’t arrive until next Tuesday according to the ship’s chronometer.

"We still have those holographic fighters, right? Our shields are nearly down as it is, we should utilitse them，” Rai knew that using the holograms would blow the rest of their power, but they also were out of other options. (edited)

No quantums. Okay then. "Understood." T'kara selected the only setting she doesn't recognize, external holo-emitters. She activated them at as full a blast as possible, and hoped that they'd get the job done.

Ironically, the prototype system onboard was the easiest of all the components to use, as the ship prepared to activate the holographic systems. The computer automatically switched to blue alert across all decks, a klaxon sounded. “Multispectral attack mode initiated, holographic emitters engaged.” The lights on the bridge were completely switched off, and so were holodecks, transporters, and nonessential systems. Full power was drawn in from the warp cores, despite the damage caused to the main drive, the two smaller cores seemed to make up for the damage. The only light the crew had were the blue alert glow and the LCARS panels. As the holographic ships were generated into space, light smoke filled the bridge as the computer expelled the heat from working under an extremely complex load. “Holograpic fighters deployed, please specify an attack pattern.”

Rai sat there in the captain's chair, preparing to give the order." *Attack pattern D'deridex khu'kra-- I mean Attack pattern Kappa 0100," *Rai thought he was competent in the Starfleet equivalents of Romulan attack patterns but clearly he was not. Still, he managed to specify the right pattern to get the holographic fighters to go after each of the raiders.

The computer beeped again. “Attack pattern confirmed, please specify a target.” It requested again, better be specific this time, because as of this date the system had never been tested on a scale like this one. So it would’ve been very easy for the computer to become confused by the Rapture and the Klingons.

Rai, very passionate, was done with this computer sass and began to swear under his breath in Havrannsu knowing very well the translators would not catch his weird mumbling. He finally sighed and said, "Attack pattern Kappa 0100 Klingon each of the Klingon raiders, target their weapons system first and then their engineering section."

“Confirmed.” The computer announced, before it commanded the fighters to turn about and take the Klingons head on, disabling weapons and then engineering as specified. And after two seconds, the Klingons were disabled and the day was officially won.

"Lower shields, we need to get the pirates off this ship and prepare to return it to Starfleet," Rai stood up, happy that they were able to save the day! He was so thankful to his crew for helping and -- this was his first time leading Starfleet officers and honestly it was very rewarding. Everyone was so kind and they listened to him. Something... He did not always get back at home.

The helmsman looked back over to the Commander of the team, smile on her face before she said something. "Everything is all set to go home! I can set a course and get us there pretty quickly if you want! Or... not as quickly, whatever you choose, Boss!"

The fight being over, T'kara lowered the ship's shields to enable beaming. Or rather, kept them off, since the holo-emitters drained them anyways. She also disarmed the torpedo launchers; better safe than sorry. Once all that was done, she stepped away from the console to check herself for injuries. She landed on her nose pretty hard back there after all.

"You all did a great job, thank you. I have never seen such team work in my whole career," Rai said with all his heart. Even on the Tenakruvek, a ship where he considered everyone to be family in some way, it was... A lot different than Starfleet. Seeing all these people of different species coming together, it was cool as hell!
